After making her unbelievably good 2017 return with the Devontée-assisted “Temperamental Love” last month, Disney-starlet-turned-indie-darling Bridgit Mendler‘s already back at it with yet another fierce collaboration: “Can’t Bring This Down” featuring Pell!
Much like “Temperamental Love,” “Can’t Bring This Down” sees Bridgit trading sweet verses with her male collaborator on a smooth and spacey, electro alt-R&B production. “Shake my head like this/ You better stop it/ Too high, too quick/ You are the one/ I never felt like this/ If I’m being honest,” she confesses on the finger-snapping groove. “I can’t bring this down/ Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah/ I can’t bring this down.”
This one has got more of a ’90s-nodding R&B feel to it, bringing to mind the early work of Nelly Furtado. Bridgit‘s truly found a sound that suits her voice in a unique and intriguing way, I’m loving everything she’s putting out as of late – GET INTO IT!
