As the sun sets and rises in this hazy, ’80s-like Warren Fu-directed clip, Abel struts his stuff like Michael Jackson on a desolate planet. He then meets his glowing companion, a gorgeous model who shines brightly before him. However, things take a turn from there as Abel‘s only girl on the planet turns to stone. Before he can capture a seemingly venomous snake who roams around them, he too becomes frozen in time.
In the end, Daft Punk aka The Robots show up. In the midst of a snowstorm, they look down at something that appears to be buried. Could it be The Weeknd? A neon glow shines and their other collaboration “Starboy” beings to play before the visual cuts off.
I love love all the nods to the ’80’s and MJ in this futuristic-meets-nostalgic concept, this is genuinely a great visual from The Weeknd – BRAVO!
