Got me on my best.. It’s about damn time we got Louisa Johnson at her best!
In all seriousness though! The 19-year-old season twelve X Factor UK winner has already proven she’s worthy of her champ title by supplying us with two solid outputs last year: The big and dramatic “So Good,” and “Tears” with Clean Bandit, which managed to peak at #5 on the UK Singles Chart.
But now, Louisa is done playing coy, she’s finally showing us that she too can be a proper pop princess with the release of her new single, “Best Behaviour“! The track – produced by TMS, and written by Danny Parker (Britney Spears “Liar”) and Shungudzo Kuyimba (Little Mix “Touch”) – is equal parts sexy and sassy, as the young diva-in-training gets sensual in the dark on the dance floor for what could surely be a spring and/or summertime dancehall-light smash — a nice change of pace after a slightly unsatisfying foray into grown-up pop with her epic-sounding, lead single “So Good.” Don’t get me wrong, I really don’t dislike “So Good,” but it was awfully serious for someone who is just 19-years-old.
“Oh you, got me on my best behaviour/ I’m on my best behaviour, I/ Know that you’re good for me, I/ Wanna be good to you,” she sings on the infectious hook. “I’m on my best behaviour, I/ I’m on my best behaviour, I/ Know that you’re good for me, I/ Wanna be good good.”
“Best Behaviour” just feels right. Intoxicating pulsations. Seductive crooning. Soaring melodies. It’s grown-up dance-pop. This is exactly where Louisa needs to be. Let’s hope there’s even more from where this came – I LIVE!
