This week’s Song of the Week comes from my boys, Life Of Dillon!
After breaking their silence with the release of their positive no worries anthem “Sex For Breakfast” in January, the talented London-bred duo – Joe Femi and David Keiffer – are already back it with another new offering titled “Rocks“!
The track is another uplifting, nu-folk pop jam loaded with sun-drenched, plucky banjo chords, a propulsive dance pulse and an ultra-catchy sing-along hook: “Oh rocks, I got lots of them/ They keep throwing and missing me/ Said I’ve been building castles since I was seventeen/ Lord, knows I still ain’t rich, and I’ll wear the same old jeans/ But the rocks that they keep throwing, are not the ones that built my dreams.”
It’s all about “turning negatives into positives daily,” the guys said in a statement. “Take the haters, the no’s, the BS and use it for fuel. We started writing ‘Rocks’ two years ago and have been patiently waiting for the right moment to drop it. Feeling blessed that moment has finally come.”
When it comes to inspiring positive life anthems, Life Of Dillon know exactly how to do it, and do it right – LOVE!
