Independent kwaeeen/maker of one of our favorite EP’s of 2016, Bridgit Mendler is back at it again after her proper and genuinely amazing reintroduction last year with her first 2017 release: “Temperamental Love” featuring rising star Devontée!
The track, written and produced by Bridgit and Devontée with additional production from Powers Pleasant – one of the founding members of Brooklyn-based hip-hop collective, Pro Era and Book & Bastian – is another winning indie offering from Bridgit that sees her trading sweet verses with her male collaborator on a spacey, electro alt-R&B production. “Temperamental love taking over me/ All the lows shake my bones every time you leave/ But I can’t escape the thought of you, boy/ But I can’t escape the thought/ But I can’t escape the thought of you,” Bridgit soulfully croons on-top of an array of hi-hats, hand claps and infectious urban beats.
The song is easily one of my favorite new Bridgit cuts alongside the Nemesis EP‘s “Atlantis” and “Do You Miss Me At All.” It’s short, sweet and undeniably pleasing to the ear – A major win!
“‘Temperamental Love‘ is about the highs, lows, hot, and cold. It’s the balance of life,” Devontée said in a statement. “Some days the high temperature is -3 and sometimes the high is 100 and that is the same thing as relationships to ensure it’s well rounded.”
