Alright, let’s get the obvious out of the way: Zara Larsson‘s new single “So Good” is giving me all sorts of Ariana Grande “The Way” meets Mariah Carey-like realness.
From the repetitive “so good, so good” chants, to those breezy, ’90’s R&B throwback sounds and everything in between, it’s all very The Emancipation of Yours Truly — even if she doesn’t quite posses the same natrual qualities. The girl is from Sweden, ya know.
STILL, much like “The Way,” the Charlie Puth and Jacob Kasher Hindlin co-penned, Danny Schofield and LunchMoney Lewis-produced bop is an irresistibly, fantastic song that grabs you from the very first play. I kid you, not!
“So Good” is a breezy summertime number full of finger snaps and bouncy drum beats that manages to sound super fresh all while bringing back tons of nostalgic feels, as the talented 19-year-old “Never Forgot You” hit-maker effortlessly alternates between powerhouse belting and smooth soulful crooning. “You be, stuck on it ’cause my love so good/ So you, keep comin’ back to get some more/ Got you in your feelings, all emotional,” she confidently declares on the infectious hook. “My love, my love/ So good, so good, so good, so good/ You know my love is/ So good, so good, so good.”
For those itching for some true powerhouse voices on mainstream radio, Zara‘s seriously supplying all the right vices. That’s my girl!
