Camila Cabello has got another solo hit on her hands y’all
The Fifth Harmony member’s collaboration with bad boy rapper Machine Gun Kelly climbs to a new peak of #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The song now ranks as Camila‘s second solo charting single, following her duet “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes last year, which peaked at #20 in the U.S and #18 in Canada.
To make sure the song reaches its full potential, the duo delivered a sultry performance of the track on The Tonight Show and have just dropped its accompanying music video! The Hannah Lux Davis-directed clip sees them playing out a bad boy meets good girl story line, aka channeling their inner-Bonnie & Clyde. “There’s something about America’s sweetheart and America’s bad boy,” the 26-year-old rapper told Billboard. “That juxtaposition is what everyone desires. Prior to this it was ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ from Jay and Beyoncé, going back further you have Romeo and Juliet.”
“The first time I heard the song, I felt an instant connection to it,” Camila, 19, added. “To me it’s sexy, but I didn’t really think about it as being edgy and a step further, because it represents feelings about love that I related to. You feel them both in the vocals and it’s just a beautiful juxtaposition.”
