This week’s Song of the Week comes from Monsieur Adi!
The Frenchman’s addictive remixes – from Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Years & Years, Britney Spears, and Beyoncé, who he supported on the 25 date European leg of her sold-out The Mrs Carter Show World Tour – have been a necessity in the indie-electronic-dance world for years now, and it’s no surprise why. The man is undeniably consistent!
But it’s been while since we’ve heard some original work of his very own. . . until now that is! This month, Monsieur Adi returns with “Bad Habits,” his brand new collaboration with Brooklyn-based indie darling Vérité. The song is a sensual and sexy, pulsating haze of finger snaps, bumpy bass lines, swirling white noise and orchestral electro string work all topped off with Vérité‘s soaring vocals.
“And I know I got bad habits I should break/ And when the morning comes smoke and clear away,” she sings on the hook. “And I know I got some secrets I can’t shake/ And when the morning comes smoke and clear away.” A superb joint effort – GET INTO IT!
