Emeli Sandé Turns Up The Heat On ‘Garden’ with Aine Zion & Jay Electronica!

After making her grand return with her powerful lead single “Hurts” last month, Scottish vocal powerhouse Emeli Sandé is already back at it with a another satisfying taste from her upcoming sophomore album Long Live the Angel (due out November 11).

Unlike the slightly, well, dramatic and aggressive feel of “Hurts,” “Garden” is a purely heaven-sent, slice of velvety smooth R&B seduction.

Let me love, let me touch, let me love/ Baby, give it up, let me drink from the fountain/ In the car, on the street, in the dark/ Baby, on the beach, in the back of the garden,” she confesses across tripping hip-hop beats, atmospheric sounds and finger-snaps, bringing the sensual soulfulness of Tinashe and Kehlani to mind. She captures the enticing thrill of a new romance perfectly on the sexy, lust-filled production and, admittedly, it’s good to hear Emeli finally embracing the sexy woman side of herself – something she rarely exuded in her past material.

“‘Garden‘ is one of my favorite songs from the album,” Emeli said in a statement. “It is an expression of freedom and passion, two important parts of life, which I hadn’t really explored until a few years ago. It was a great honor to work with the genius Jay Electronica and I’m very excited to introduce a very special talent, Áine Zion.”

Emeli Sandé’s latest “Garden” (feat. Aine Zion & Jay Electronica) is also available on Spotify and Apple Music!
