The 19-year-old singer-songwriter is slowly building up a roster of collaborations for herself, having already teamed up with Shawn Mendes on their hit “I Know What You Did Last Summer” last year. But this time around, she’s decided to join forces with bad boy rapper Machine Gun Kelly on his new single “Bad Things,” the first offering from his upcoming third studio album.
The track, produced by The Futuristic (Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Three 6 Mafia, etc.), finds Camila laying down her infectious vocals on-top of a lingering piano melody and a tripping, urban-leaning beat as she delivers the hook: “Am I out of my head?/ Am I out of my mind?/ If you only knew the bad things I like/ Don’t think that I can explain it/ What can I say, it’s complicated,” she sings while MGK supports the verses with a solid flow.
The chorus and Camila‘s bridge moment are both the only real draw here if I’m keeping it real. Overall the song is a bit underwhelming, and hopefully doesn’t mean this is the direction she would choose if a solo career was happening – none of that has been confirmed though, so lets not make something out of nothing.
Fifth Harmony are currently enjoying their highest peak and slaying stages across Europe as part of their 7/27 Tour. It’s too early for y’all to start pursing solo careers, okay girls. You know you’re better together.. SEE WHAT I DID THERE! Jon ALi OUT!
