Last year, I wrote about New Jersey-bred up-and-comer FLETCHER and her debut single “War Paint,” an undeniably addicting pop gem that floats somewhere between Rachel Platten and Sia. Since then, the gorgeous singer-songwriter has been named one of Spotify’s Spotlight 2016 Acts alongside rising stars such as Troye Sivan and Gallant after earning 40M+ streams.
While the site was on hiatus, FLETCHER returned with the release of her debut EP Finding Fletcher, complete with six songs – “War Paint, “Live Young Die Free,” “Avalanche,” “Wasted Youth,” “Princess” and “Over My Head” – all of which just happen to be impressively great. Really though, this is sophisticated pop at its very best: Strong songcraft, intricate production, powerful melodies and captivatingly pure vocals, from the stomping coming-of-age anthem “Princess” to the thoroughly melodic and dreamy “Over My Head” (my personal favorite) to “Live Young Die Free,” an ANTHEM of the highest order.
I can’t say enough good things about this debut effort. At just 22-years-old, FLETCHER seems to know exactly the artist she wants to be and its showcased in every single one of these tracks – GET FAMILIAR NOW!!!
