Skylar Grey Unexpectedly Switches It Up On New Single ‘Off Road’!

Skylar GreySkylar Grey is sick of the same old shit!

Following the release of her somber guitar-driven ballad “Moving Mountains” in April, the talented singer-songwriter returns to us with “Off Road!” And like the title suggests, she’s swerved a little left and ditched her signature sound. . . for now at least.

Instead, “Off Road” is a gritty ‘n dreamy slice of urban-leaning electro-pop — and it’s even better than whatever you expected. “Don’t care where you’re takin’ me/ As long as you takin’ me/ Off road, off road, off road..,” she confidently purrs above the chilly hard-hitting pulse. “So what you wanna do/ You wanna do to me, babe/ You got me in the mood.” It’s sleek, calm, cool and collected Skylar greatness – I LOVE!

“‘Off Road’ is a summer jam about adventure. I’m always looking to explore uncharted territory and try new things to expand my horizons,” Skylar said in a statement. “It all began with a track by Jayson DeZuzio that I was obsessed with. The first time I tried writing to it, my song didn’t do the track justice so it got put away. Then about a year later, he wrote me and said that another artist was interested in taking the track, so I said ‘WAIT! Let me try writing to it one more time…’ So I rewrote to the track that very night, and the result was ‘Off Road.”
