It’s been a while. . . But what we’ve been waiting for is finally here now!
“Make Me…” (feat. G-Eazy)–Britney Spears‘ hotly anticipated new single from her as-of-yet untitled ninth studio album due out later this year–has officially arrived! The Burns-produced, Joe Janiak co-written lead single is many things, but above all, it’s the type of song most of us have been wanting to hear from the Living Legend for years. PRAISE!
“I just want you to make me move/ Like it ain’t a choice for you, like you got a job to do/ Just want you to raise my roof/ Something sensational (oh yeah),” Brit confesses above the clap-heavy pre-chorus, before launching into the song’s euphoric hook: “And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh…”
Thankfully, Brit has managed to get herself properly together this time around to avoid another disaster, like the Iggy Azalea-assisted “Pretty Girls” from last year. Instead, she’s tapped into her #SomethingMoreUrban sexy side — the one she’s toyed with on deep cuts like In The Zone‘s “Early Mornin’,” Blackout‘s “Perfect Lover” and Femme Fatale‘s “Inside Out” — resulting in some rather perfect late night summertime seduction that feels spectacularly very now. “Moody R&B” is all the rage kids, but I ain’t mad at it.
It’s sleek, fresh, sophisticated, “inevitably sexy” and just the right mature move Britney needed to make – I mean, she sounds legit amazing.
WELCOME BACK MAMA!!
