The 1975 Premiere Beautifully Lonely Music Video For ‘Somebody Else’!

I haven’t properly written about The 1975 yet, although their excellent sophomore album – I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it – has been on repeat ever since in dropped back in February. So, let’s change that.

The English band have just premiered the music video for “Somebody Else,” my absolute favorite track from the LP. It’s a beautifully produced dreamy, sad, therapeutic and ’80’s-insipred number packed with a walloping emotional punch that sounds like it was tailored for the soundtrack of a teen ’80’s prom (in the best way possible, obviously).

Picking up where the video for “A Change Of Heart” left off, “Somebody Else” continues to see the band taking their unique aesthetic to new heights. Directed by Tim Mattia and treatment written by frontman Matthew Healy, the video follows Healy through the murky world of a Lynchian night-time London, struggling with self-obsession in the face of heart-break.

‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’ is available on iTunes now!
