John Newman is giving it another go!
In case you forget, he’s the incredibly talented UK belter who gave us “Love Me Again,” “Cheating” and, my personal fave, “Losing Sleep” from his fantastic 2013 debut Tribute. He came back for a second round last year with album #2 Revolve, which included the upbeat and infectious “Come and Get It,” but it unfortunately was unable to match the success of his debut. Womp.. womp..
Luckily for John, he’s managed to keep close with DJ superstar Calvin Harris after first collaborating on “Blame” back in 2014.
And while it’s been a minute since the two linked up, it turns out they still make for a killer combo, as proven with: “Olé,” the Harris-produced/co-written lead single off of John‘s upcoming third studio album. This time around, however, John and Harris have decided to strip things down and let it all out, reggae style. “Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day/ And only you can chase the pain away/ You bring too much sunlight to my day,” John calmly declares over the chilled-out, summer groove. It’s quite different as far as festival-ready Calvin Harris beats are concerned, but the true star here is John‘s impressively smooth delivery. The mans voice is simply untouchable – Get into it!
