This week’s Song of the Week comes from Stockholm-based solo artist Olsson, aka Christian Olsson!
The rising singer-songwriter-producer has already developed quite the resume serving as the lead singer of Fibes, Oh Fibes! and spending the last year writing and producing with artists such as Charli XCX, SeeB, Jacob Banks and MishCatt.
But now, Olsson is ready to launch a proper pop career of his very own with the release of his debut single “Hold On” featuring Mapei, which received its worldwide premiere on Zane Lowe‘s Beats1 radio show.
The track is a thrilling slice of electro-pop packed with an old school melody, bold beats and anthemic gospel-like chorus that couldn’t be more perfectly timed, considering it was inspired by “the current political climate worldwide and warfare.” “It’s a battle song about when you´re struggling to find purpose and meaning when the world around you is falling apart,” Olsson said in a statement. “Its about when you thought you lost the fight, but you find a new way out.”
It’s so refreshingly good it hurts – Get familiar now!
