Fifth Harmony Team Up With Fetty Wap & Missy Elliott On ‘7/27’ – Listen!
With just three days left to go until their sophomore album 7/27 drops on Friday (May 27), it’s time to hear Fifth Harmony‘s opening number “That’s My Girl” and two of the most anticipated cuts from new album: “All In My Head (Flex)” featuring Fetty Wap and “Not That Kinda Girl” featuring Missy Elliott!
First up is the Fetty Wap-assisted “All In My Head (Flex),” which is confirmed to be the second official single from 7/27! And it’s truly the perfect follow-up to “Work From Home” as they girls trade infectious verses on-top of another urban-pop production, which is assisted by light reggae pulses and crisp hi-hats. “Flex, time to impress/ Come and climb in my bed/ Don’t be shy, do your thing/ It’s all in my head,” the girls chant on the Dinah and Normani-led hook. In short: It’s an undeniable Summer jam.
And then there’s “Not That Kinda Girl” featuring Missy Elliott, another banger-level track that is sonically the complete opposite of “All In My Head (Flex)” as we hear the girls get sassy over a funky guitar licks and an ’80s-inspired, synth-soaked stomp – bringing to mind Little Mix with a little bit of old-school Janet Jackson. “Why you looking like I’m that kinda girl?/ Just cause I’m hot don’t mean that I’m that girl/ If you want me, don’t treat me like I’m her/ Don’t get fucked up, I’m not that kinda girl”
And lastly, but certainly not least is the opening number “That’s My Girl,” Fifth Harmony‘s empowering ladies anthem that comes packed with a saxophone-assisted dance stomp and one hell of a chanty chorus: “That’s my girl, that’s my girl, that’s my girl!” Basically, if you were to combine “Worth It” and “Sledgehammer” with some Pussycat Dolls “When I Grow Up” you would get “That’s My Girl,” a monster smash of the highest order.
Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that Fifth Harmony have definitely stepped up their game for album #2 – LOVE!
