It’s been over a year now since Nathan Sykes began releasing tunes of his very own, and yet, there’s still no official word on a release date for his debut solo album. With that said, the former The Wanted member has at least had a solid streak thus far in his solo album campaign, from the very first output “More Than You’ll Ever Know” to the U.S Dance Chart topping “Kiss Me Quick” and “Over and Over Again.” But now, three singles deep, the pop belter might have just hit us with one of his best yet: “Give It Up” featuring G-Easy!
The bouncy number – which samples a bit of Blackstreet‘s soulful 1997 single “Don’t Leave Me” – is a certifiable sexy jam, packed with a ultra smooth kind of chilled-out strutting, finger-snapping funkiness and a slight ’80’s sheen. It’s a slick production from start to finish, but it’s that instant rush of a chorus that truly seals the deal: “Woo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh/ Don’t leave me girl/ Woo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-h/ Please stay with me tonight/ Woo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh/ Don’t leave me girl/ Woo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh/ I know you’re down to give it up.”
This is exactly the kind of radio bait I’ve been waiting to hear from Nathan – INTO IT!
