“Work From Home” – the lead single from their upcoming sophomore album 7/27 (due out May 20th) – is the expected, pop/urban genre-blurring step up from their global smash “Worth It“: The Ammo, Dallas Koehlke, Victoria Monét and Fuliane Petikyan-crafted track is an infectious burst of energy from the very first play with its killer earworm of chorus that cements itself in your brain instantly. “You don’t gotta go to work, work, work, work/ Work, work, work, work/ But you gotta put in work, work, work, work,” the girls chant over finger snaps and hard-hitting, icy Nintendo-like beats. “Let my body do the work, work, work, work/ We can work from home, oh, oh, oh-oh/ We can work from home, oh, oh, oh-oh.”
The X-directed clip for the song, however, is a hot construction zone-themed, choreography-packed visual that sees the girls — Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke — looking like the proper girl group we’ve always wanted them to be.
