Song of the Week: Gallant ‘Skipping Stones’ feat. Jhené Aiko
This week’s Song of the Week comes from rising singer-songwriter Gallant!
Following a string of fantastic releases – From “Jupiter Grayscale” to last year’s stunner “Weight in Gold” – the Los Angeles-based Red Bull Sound Select artist is back with “Skipping Stones,” a brand new soulful collaboration with R&B songstress Jhené Aiko, off of his special two-track digital release out Friday (February 5)!
Produced by Adrian Younge and Stint, “Skipping Stones” finds Gallant and Jhené trading sweet harmonies about lessons learned, bridges burned, and what they might be missing. “So find me skipping stones, yeah, washed up rocks/ Holding out for something I can’t force/ What am I missing? / Oh, baby, what am I missing?,” the duo question over a silky and gentle, hypnotic beat.
It plays out like a futurstic Motown record, I love it – Listen below!
