Here is something new from very popular breakout star, Charlie Puth!
For anyone not already familiar with Charlie, the singer-songwriter and record producer has been dominating the airwaves over the past year thanks to his current single “One Call Away,” the Meghan Trainer-assisted “Marvin Gaye,” and his massive Furious 7 soundtrack collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, “See You Again,” which has spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, and is nominated for three Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Following “One Call Away,” Charlie is planning on making his much-talked about collab with fellow twenty-something-year-old Selena Gomez, “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” as the next official single off his debut album Nine Track Mind, which is due out at the end of the week (January 29).
The sensual and subtle pop number — which was produced by Charlie himself — sounds like it could sit comfortably in-between “Kill Em with Kindness” and “Survivors” off of Selena‘s latest LP Revival, as the two effortlessly trade sweet melodies about no longer being that special someone. “We don’t talk anymore/ We don’t talk anymore/ We don’t talk anymore/ Like we used to do,” Charlie and Selena sing across the slick, island-tinged guitar-pop production. “We don’t love anymore/ What was all of it for?/ Ohh, we don’t talk anymore/ Like we used to do.” It’s simple, relatable, catchy, and very on-trend: A certifiable smash for both – WIN!
