Time and time again — from Leona Lewis to Rebecca Ferguson to Cher Lloyd to One Direction to Ella Henderson to Little Mix — X Factor UK has produced some of the world’s greatest pop acts.
Fleur East, in case you weren’t already familiar, first competed on the 2nd season of X Factor UK in 2005 as a member of the girl group Addictiv Ladies. That obviously didn’t work out so Fleur stepped away from the group and then returned as a solo artist for its eleventh series last year, where she placed runner-up behind winner Ben Haenow – who last month released his single “Second Hand Heart” with Kelly Clarkson.
Fleur is finally making her mark with “Sax,” the addictive brassed-up, sassy lead single from her anticipated debut Love, Sax and Flashbacks, which will be released on December 4th via Simco Limited. The funky number is an instant radio hit that immediately brings Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars‘ smash “Uptown Funk” to mind, which makes perfrect sense when considering Fleur is the show’s first contestant to reach #1 on the UK iTunes Store chart during the competition with her performance of the very same song.” I think it’s safe to say that she’s found her niche – GO GIRL!
