Ain’t no stoppin’ her now, she’s on a roll! Following the release of last month’s triumphant Adele-co-penned “Alive,” Sia has decided to offer up “Bird Set Free,” the other track written for the British superstar with producer Greg Kurstin..
“Bird Set Free,” is the second song from This Is Acting, her upcoming seventh studio album (due out January 29th) consisting of songs Sia penned for other artists. This one’s all about being broken down, but rising above in spite of everything — a self-empowerment anthem, if you will, loaded with the same kind of sincerity you’d come to expect from Sia. “I’m not gon’ care if I sing off key/ I find myself in my melodies/ I sing for love, I sing for me/ I shout it out like a bird set free,” she cries in the liberating hook, backed by a marching drum beat.
Sia‘s obviously no stranger to supplying inspiration — she is inspiration queen — and she continues to do so in “Bird Set Free.” There are plenty of earworm hooks (“I don’t wanna die, I don’t wanna die”) and a massive chorus, but the best part, obviously, is when Sia lets loose and provides the kind of raw delivery we’ve come to expect from the Aussie diva.

“Bird Set Free” will be released at midnight alongside the pre-order of This Is Acting!
