Ariana Grande Gets Horn(y) Again On New Single ‘Focus’ – Watch Music Video Now!

Ariana Grande wants you to focus, f-f-focus.

After dropping her Grammy-nominated My Everything last year (I’m still all about “Break Free”), the pint-sized pop princess wasted no time hopping right back in the studio to record a follow-up to the hit-packed album — and “Focus” is our first taste of Round 3 titled Moonlight. Much like her very own global smash “Problem,” “Focus” – produced by Max Martin and co-penned by Ariana alongside Ilya Salmanzadeh, Savan Kotecha and Peter Svensson – finds Ariana grinding up against some blaring horns and hard-hitting beats on the sassy, soon-to-be radio smash (it’s inevitable).

“Let’s find a light inside our universe now/ Where ain’t nobody keep on holding us down/ Just come and get it, let them say what they say/ Cause I’m about to put them all away,” Ariana belts out on the infectious pre-chorus – again, very similar to “Problem” – before launching into the song’s handclap-filled chorus, which is basically just a Mystical sound-alike yelling “FOCUS on me!” forever.

I don’t think it’s quite on the same level as “Problem” or “Break Free,” but it’s undeniably still a fun, solid bop that will inevitably be cemented into our brains very very soon. What do you guys think?

SIDENOTE: The video is on point, I cannot and will not clock it.

  1. The video is great! I do however find the song lyrically challenged and am disappointed in her “Problem 2.0” if you will. But if it worked for her the first time.. her team is probably thinking why change it? I do hope her album is fresher than this.

  2. Definitely not catchy and not single worthy. Fail.

  3. She definitely brings on things like Sl*t-shaming. And just embraces it. Where it proud girl. This song almost had me until the chorus.

Random point it actually reminds me of a K-pop music video. or an early JLO music video on acid.

  5. Liked it the first time, love it the 2nd time, now on replay! Definitely catchy and vocals are on point! Kinda agree about the chorus but I think it works quite well in the end

  6. She’s so delightfully trashy. Does remind me a little of young Xtina. Love it!

    1. I agree 100 %

    2. If you are trying to say she is trash then you’re wrong

  7. The video visuals, hair, choreo looks like a rip off of Sparks by Hilary Duff.

  8. why does she keep re-doing Britney Spears Videos?

  9. I was SO excited for finally get some new Ari and was hoping for whatever snippet she posted on instagram a while back. Focus is a huge disappointment. Lyrically boring, vocally lazy, its more like a song she recorded for My Everything that missed the mark in a major way so they left it off the album. Lets hope the next single is a banger!

  10. It would have been waiting, i’m clearly pointing out the similarities between this and Problem and the weird chorus, but oddly enough i got used to it and i think it’s another fun and enjoyable song but i still think Break Free is tremendous fun. She sounds great as always i just hope the next single will be a ballad which will be quite fitting for the coldest nights of the winter
