Here’s a bit of much needed sunshine for the day, courtesy of the always amazing Mrs. Kelly Clarkson!
In what will most likely be the last time we hear any new material from the Breakaway queen before the birth of her second child with hubby Brandon Blackstock, our first-ever American Idol diva has decided to lend her voice to X Factor UK winner Ben Haenow‘s brand new single called “Second Hand Heart,” the lead single off his upcoming self-titled debut album (due out on November 13th via Simco Limited).
And yes — Momma Kel did not disappoint.
The two effortlessly take turns trading off verses and harmonizing on the inspirational love anthem together – written by Andrew Haas, Ian Franzino, Joe Kirkland, Jason Dean and Neil Ormandy. “I might think too much, drink too much, stay out too late/ I know I’m just a fool, but I swear I can change/ I can’t steal you the stars/ But I can give you this second hand heart,” the twosome sing on the stomping, folk-tinged chorus.
Kelegend keeps it somewhat toned down so as not to overshadow Ben‘s Ryan Tedder-like delivery throughout, but let’s be real, once those blows towards the end come through, it’s all about Kelly. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT KELLY!
