It’s MØ‘s time to really shine!
For those of you not already familiar with the Danish singer-songwriter, she completely owned this past summer with her explosive Major Lazer collaboration “Lean On,” but a year before that, she released her debut LP No Mythologies To Follow, one of the more underrated pop records of last year. (Get into it if you haven’t already. It’s a must listen.)
This week, MØ officially puts the spotlight back on herself with the premiere of her new single called “Kamikaze“! And luckily for us, nothing’s really changed — she’s just as wonderfully weird and excellent as ever. “Kamikaze,” produced by Diplo, is a infectious and light slice of ear-pleasing experiential pop packed with honking, world-inspired horns and bubbling beats. “Take me to the party/ Kami- Kamikaze/ Blame it on the buzz/ I am never gonna get enough/ Take me to the party/ Kami- Kamikaze,” she sings on the addictive sing-along hook. It’s a total winner and I’m completely hooked.
“I love working with Diplo. It’s always such a fun and open-minded creative process. It’s about making memorable songs but, more than that, it’s about making pop music that wants to push boundaries,” MØ said in a statement. “I’ve been loving all kinds of pop since I first fell in love with the Spice Girls, but pop needs to bring something new to the table, it needs balls. And that’s what you get working with Diplo. Making “Lean On” and being a part of that tornado these past eight months has been one of the greatest experiences in my life so far, and I’m super happy that “Kamikaze” is made in a collaboration with the same group of my friends.”
MØ’s brand new single “Kamikaze” is available on iTunes and all other digital platforms now!
