Rebecca & Fiona Make Their Return With ‘Sayonara’!
At long last. . . Rebecca & Fiona have returned!
The stunning Swedish twosome, who provided one of my favorite dance-electronic records in I Love, Man back in 2011, are back with the premiere of their brand new single “Sayonara,” the first taste from their upcoming third studio album.
Set atop a bright jaunty piano melody, bubbling electronica and marching drums, Rebecca & Fiona formally reintroduce themselves: “Fuck the world. I don’t care anymore,” they sing in the opening lines. Oh YES, it’s all so good. “Hey, nothing lasts forever/ I just gotta tell it to myself/ So one day I can wave it/ Sayonara,” the duo chant on the infectious hook. “I’ll be gone tomorrow/ I just need to say what’s on my mind/ So finally I can wave it/ Sayonara.” The track feels like a subtle shift from the duo’s usual Swedish dance-pop lane and sees them maturing more into a electronic-indie-pop vibe, bringing bands like Chvrches and MS MR to mind. I diggs!
“Sayonara” is available on iTunes as well as all other digital platforms now!
