Tinashe Drops Proper ‘Joyride’ Smash with Chris Brown, ‘Player’!

It’s time for the legit Tinashe takeover to begin! After dropping her hypnotic, Young Thug-assisted buzz track “Party Favors” last month, the rising alt-R&B diva has finally dropped “Player,” the official lead single off of her upcoming sophomore album Joyride.

Kicking off with a tripping hip-hop beat, finger-snaps and distant trap hi-hats, Tinashe gently croons her way into the euphoric LULOU and Alex Purpl-crafted production as warm, tropical-like House pulsations smoothly fill out the track. “So you better stay up, player/ Yeah, you better keep up, player/ Cause tonight is a game-changer/ So you better stay up, up, player,” she seductively purrs before launching into arguably her most immediate chorus to date: “You and I make so much love/ Why you got me all fucked up?/ Yeah, you got me holdin’ back, holdin’ back/ But it ain’t enough.”

The Chris Brown-assisted cut plays out like a next-level Aquarius cut that sees her drifting away from the more moody, hazy offerings of her stellar debut and stepping foot into the pop world with a more radio-friendly, much bigger electro-R&B dance banger. AKA It’s a proper smash y’all!

There’s also a solo non-Chris Brown featuring version for your listening pleasure (smart girl).

Tinashe’s brand new single “Player” featuring Chris Brown will be available on Friday (October 2)!
