Jess Glynne Offers Up Soulful Taste of ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ with ‘Ain’t Got Far To Go’!

Jess Glynne may be a few days away from her intense vocal surgery, but luckily for us that isn’t stopping the fire-haired UK songstress from sharing even more new music from her upcoming debut album I Cry When I Laugh, which is due out August 14th in the UK and September 11th in the US.

Here we have the acoustic version of “Ain’t Got Far To Go,” an empowering soulful number made perfectly to show off Jess‘ effortless vocals. “It was the first song I wrote with Knox Brown which was so special,” Jess told FADER. “Together we created the spine of the album and found the soul of it, and ‘Ain’t Got Far To Go‘ was the beginning. It’s about never giving up and believing in yourself, not letting people get in the way of what you want and making it happen. It couldn’t be more relevant to my life right now; going through such a scary time but still knowing that I ‘Ain’t Got Far To Go’ till I’m back and I’m better.” And better you will be mama! This is just the beginning. Get into it!

  1. Wow vocals!

…BUT this is going to sound crazy, where are all the BLACK artists to sing these great urban/soulful songs?

COUGH – Adele, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Jessie J, Tori Kelly, Ariana…

I know it’s a genre or thing called “Blue Eyed Soul” and I do love ALL of those artists and their vocals but it’s enough! Music Labels need to put out MORE ethnic artists singing these hits.
