‘Bite The Bullet’: Melanie Fiona’s Triumphant Caribbean Return!

Melanie Fiona is back and better than ever!

It’s been a minute (three years, to be exact) since the Canadian Grammy-winning diva released her last studio album The MF Life, which gave us “Gone And Never Coming Back,” “This Time” with J. ColeChange The Record” with B.o.B, and of course, “4AM” — one of my favorite R&B cuts.

Melanie makes her triumphant return this week with “Bite The Bullet,” the first single from her upcoming album Awake. The soulful number sees the singer pulling from her island roots as she sings about falling victim to a dangerous love. “I’ll bite the bullet/ I’ll do it in the name of love/ I guess I’ll bite the bullet/ Or stop playing with loaded guns, stop playing with loaded guns,” she sings over the infectious, Caribbean-flavored beat.

The summer-ready production effortlessly plays to Melanie‘s strength and ability to keep her artistry intact while still catering to a radio-friendly sound, but the true greatness of the track lies in her flawless emotional delivery. WELCOME BACK GIRL!
