While it may seem like the boys – Howard and Guy Lawrence – have kept things quiet since the release of their critically-acclaimed 2013 debut album Settle, they’ve in fact been hard at work on it’s follow up in-between collabs with Mary J. Blige, remix releases, and an endless list of live shows.
Their latest tune “Bang That,” is a straight-up club record from start to finish that samples bits from 313 Bass Mechanic‘s “Pass Out.” That signature wonky bass line we’re used to hearing is gone, replaced instead by a fusion of industrial, garage and house grit that totally captures the heavier sounds coming out of the UK at the moment. It’s no “White Noise” or “Latch,” but it’s certainly something fresh to hold us over until we get a real taste of that sophomore album. “Bang that til you pass out!”
As work speedily progresses on our next record, we wanted to give you guys something for the summer. Been playing this one in our DJ sets for a while now and couldn’t resist putting it up! Hope you enjoy… So much more on the way!”
