After a steady stream of releases that include a 4-track EP titled Echo and last month’s “Wasteland,” let me finally introduce you to Vérité! The rising NYC-based singer-songwriter has quickly soared into blogsphere fame and acclaim the past few months thanks to her unique brand of hard-hitting, ethereal alt-pop sounds.
With her latest offering, “Colors,” it seems the transition from blog-pop to something bigger is beginning to take form. The Zach Nicita (of MS MR)-produced track takes what we’ve heard from her debut EP and pushes it even further into a sensational alternative pop atmosphere with its gritty electro glitches, stomping drums, and soaring hook. Vérité‘s raw/soulful voice powers through the pristine production effortlessly, it’s all sorts of right. “Colors” will be included on her upcoming sophomore EP due for release this year, and it takes leaps and bounds from what we’ve already heard.
