Will Young Preps New Album ‘85% Proof’ with Comeback Single, ‘Love Revolution’!

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Will Young, not to worry though, he’s making up for lost time with the release of his new single, “Love Revolution“! The track is the British singer’s first in four years following the release of his stellar 2011 Richard X-produced album Echoes. It is also the lead single to be taken from his forthcoming sixth album 85% Proof, which is due for release in the UK on May 25. Produced by previous collaborator Jim Eliot, “Love Revolution” sees Will switching up his glorious synth-pop sound from Echoes, and opting for something more instrumental and soulful. “Happiness is to feel loneliness / And loneliness blew my world / How could I guess / When I’m only looking at myself / It was there right at the door,” Will croons over a funky, throwback beat. It kind of sounds like something Olly Murs, Mark Ronson or Sam Smith would put out so it’s right on trend. But after the greatness that was Echoes, this just seems slightly underwhelming. Still, I looking forward to the album. What do you guys think?

Err… I don’t think I like this. It’s not terrible, it’s just that Echoes was so good. Now I’ve heard it, it’s not something I’d rush back to hear again. Looking forward to what the rest of the album has to offer.
