Kat DeLuna Returns with New Trey Songz-Assisted Single, ‘Bum Bum’!

Seven years ago, back in the glorious year of 2007, Kat DeLuna got our bodies shaking on the dance floor with her infectious debut single, “Whine Up.” From there, it was a bit of a struggle — from “Run The Show” with Busta Rhymes to “Push Push” with Akon to “Drop It Low” to “Wanna See U Dance (La La La)” – Kat never managed to stick anywhere but the European market. Fast forward to 2015, Kat has officially made her return with the release of her new single “Bum Bum” featuring Trey Songz! The track, which samples Sister Nancy‘s classic 1982 reggae song “Bam Bam,” sees Kat ditching the club beats for a more chilled-out tropical affair. “If you want to love me, you got to do it right / ‘Cause every queen needs a king who wants somebody all day, all night,” she sings. “We can do it in the shower / We can do it on the floor / You can get it every hour, there’s so much more.” It’s a bit oversexed and ridiculous but I kind of love it for that very reason. C’mon Bum Bum!

“I’m so excited for the world to hear my amazing new song ‘Bum Bum‘ with the incredible Trey Songz,” Kat told Rap-Up. “This song is evidence that music transcends generations, and for that I want to specially thank Sister Nancy for originating such an incredible song that left its musical imprint culturally for years to come. I hope ‘Bum Bum’ becomes your summer anthem!”

  1. This isnt doing her any Favors.

  2. Also forgot to mention that most of the lyrics are copied from Shaggy, very weak song.
