It’s time to meet M.O, the British trio made up of Frankee Connolly, Annie Ashcroft and Nadine Samuels. Since forming in 2012, the girls have been keeping busy making a name for themselves in the UK with a slew of catchy, throwback-influenced single releases; From “On Ya” to “Ain’t Got Time” to “For A Minute” to their most successful single to date “Dance On My Own.” It’s all been very good, but not life-changing good, until now.
“Preach,” M.O‘s brand new release co-written with Joel Compass and Starsmith, is a super breezy R&B-tinged pop number that recalls all those amazing ’90’s girl group hits we all were obsessed with. “So come on preach / All your misery that ain’t what I need / So come on preach / That’s what you gotta do to keep my company / So come on preach,” the girls chant above the infectious drum beat. It’s a simple yet refreshing sound, and the girls sound better than ever. “We were trying to tell people to stay true to themselves, not to get caught up in anyone else’s game and never settle for something you don’t feel 100% about,” the girls told FADER about the track. “That’s what we were trying to put out there – other people might be fine with being satisfied – it’s like saying ‘things are ok…’ we want and need to feel more!”
They’ve clearly put in the work, so if all things go right, “Preach” should very well be their biggest UK hit yet. Get familiar with M.O now!
M.O’s brand new single “Preach” will be released in the UK on May 3rd!
