Tom Hanks Lip Syncs for His Life in Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘I Really Like You’ Music Video!

Following its debut last week, Carly Rae Jepsen has dropped the official music video for her absurdly catchy new single “I Really Like You“! Directed by Peter Glanz, the clip follows Tom Hanks as he lip-syncs his way through the streets of New York to meet up with Ms. Jepsen herself to shoot this exact video (self-referential indeed). Justin Bieber eventually meets up with them both and it quickly becomes a super fun flash mob scenario, because why not?

“I had been sent 15 different treatments [for the video] and I was reading them all and they were so romantic and sweet, and the song was already so sweet and romantic that I really wanted to have a flavor of like comedy or just a little to the left so Scooter and I were talking and were like, ‘What if it’s a guy who sings it? A really unexpected man to just lip sync the entire thing,’ and I loved the idea,” Carly said about the video treatment. “I started stalking a few people who I loved and Scooter Braun was telling this story to Tom Hanks at dinner…and Tom’s like, ‘Why didn’t you guys ask me? I would do it,’
