Following the release of “Run Run Run” with John Legend, title track “Piece By Piece” and “Invincible,” Kelly Clarkson is sharing even more from her latest album Piece By Piece in every sense of its title. First up is “Take You High,” produced by MoZella McDonald and Jesse Shatkin, the first upbeat piece we’ve heard from the LP aside from lead single “Heartbeat Song.” As per usual, Kelly‘s assured vocal is what carries the song, but the glitchy electronic effects and wonky synth injections mixed along the way are really what make this one genuinely special. The song is all levels of good, but today’s other offering, “Let Your Tears Fall,” is undeniably the true highlight. The dreamy Sia and Greg Kurstin-crafted track sees Kelly offering a shoulder to cry on as she sweetly coos up against waves upon waves of warm synthesizers. “Tell me all your secrets tell me your fears / Imma push you away then only pull you near / No I won’t judge you and I’ll help you through / Tell me all your secrets sharing your pain / Confess it all in me, no matter tell me your name,” Kelly sings on the earworm of a chorus. “Let your tears fall, Let your tears fall, Let your tears fall.” The song needs to receive the single treatment at some point, I absolutely love it. Update: “Tightrope” has just been added! What do you guys think?
