It’s been quite the long journey for the ladies of MKS, the original Sugababes line-up. Following the release of their debut single “Flatline” in 2013, the three-piece featuring Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy have kept their new material on lock-down… until now that is.
Over the weekend, a gorgeous new cut titled “Back In The Day” made its way online and its an absolute stunner. Produced by Dev Haynes, the track sees the girls lacing their signature soulful harmonizing on-top of a smooth R&B production driven by delicate piano lines, a striding indie-pop beat, and sparkles of glowing electronica. “Memories overlook what we tried to forget / I’m lost in the outer edge / Rivers deep, now shallow / As it flows we let go, and where we’ve been nobody knows,” the girls sing in unison on the glorious hook. I’ve been taken to church and I’m not coming back.
