Years & Years Take On Interpretive Dance for ‘King’ Music Video!

Just two weeks after being named the winners of the prestigious BBC Music Sound Of 2015, UK-based trio Years & Years premiere the music video for their latest jam “King“! The track serves as the third official single off their upcoming full-length debut album, which is set to hit stores later this year via Copenhagen Records and Polydor. Directed by Nadia and choreographed by Ryan Heffington (Sia‘s “Chandelier“), the clip sees a variety of dancers wrapping themselves around frontman Olly Alexander and his bandmates to manipulate their bodies into doing an interpretive dance routine. “Ryan got in touch a while ago to say he was a fan of our music, I’d been an admirer of his work so we met up and we instantly hit it off. As a band we’ve always wanted to use choreography in a video – something that was a bit more unusual and I knew Ryan would be the guy to work with,” Olly told Buzzfeed. “The initial idea came from the meaning of the song, feeling controlled by somebody and wanting them to let you go. We were lucky enough to shoot the video in LA with a bunch of ridiculously talented and nice people, I’m really thankful to all the crew, Nadia for her excellent directing eyes, Ryan, and all the dancers who did such a great job.” Great job indeed, I loved it. What did you guys think?

Years & Years new single “King” will be released on March 1 in the UK!
