Beyoncé ‘Platinum Edition’ Bonus Tracks ‘7/11’ & ‘Ring Off’ Make Their Debut!

Earlier this month, Beyoncé announced that a repackage of her surprise self-titled album entitled The Platinum Edition Box Set would be released to commemorate its one-year anniversary. The 2 CD/2 DVD limited edition package, which is due out on Monday (November 24) via Columbia Records, includes two brand-new songs, “7/11” and “Ring Off,” which make their debut today! On the R&B banger “7/11,” produced by Bobby Johnson and Detail, Bey gets to flexin’ on-top of a hard-hitting trap beat. “Smack that, clap that…like you don’t care,” she commands with heavy auto-tune. It’s meh. While on the Mike Caren-produced “Ring Off,” Bey tributes her mother Miss Tina Knowles by singing about a heartbreaking breakup and finding new love. “Now the fun begins / Dust yourself off and you love again / You found a new man, now you shine and you’re fine like it’s my time.” Unfortunately, both songs sound like leftover b-sides without much thought to them. I favor “Ring Off” more than “7/11,” but that’s not really saying much. I hardly doubt I will listen to these again. Bring on the next album Bey – We are ready!
