Mikky Ekko may have rose to stardom with his massive Grammy-winning Rihanna duet – “Stay,” but since then, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter has managed to breakout on his own right as a rising solo artist thanks to his infectious buzz single “Kids” and superb collaboration with Chris Malinchak on “Stranger.” After recently premiering his lead single “Smile,” Mikky has finally unveiled the cover art for his upcoming debut album Time, which is scheduled for release on January 20 via RCA Records. The 12-track LP includes production credits from the likes of Dave Sitek, Jeff Bhasker, Jim Eliot, Dennis Herring, Clams Casino, as well as hit-makers Ryan Tedder, Benny Blanco, and Stargate. Here we have “Mourning Doves,” a emotional and piano-driven cut from the record. “For me, ‘Mourning Doves‘ is connected to the uncertainty and unpredictability of life,” Mikky told Vogue. “I was visiting my friend [the song’s co-writer and “Stay” co-producer] Elof Loev in Stockholm, and we both wanted to write something beautiful and haunting.” And that’s exactly what it is – Get into it below!
