Taylor Swift Premieres ‘1989’ Opening Cut, ‘Welcome To New York’!

Taylor Swift shares her love for the Big Apple with the premiere of her latest offering “Welcome To New York“! The track serves as the second promotional iTunes countdown single, following “Out of the Woods“, in support of the pre-order of her upcoming fifth studio album 1989, which is scheduled to be released on October 27 via Big Machine Records. Produced and co-written by OneRepublic‘s Ryan Tedder, “Welcome To New York” is a joyous and charming pop number packed with crashing drums, a smooth gliding beat, rallying hand-claps, and shimmering ’80’s synths. “Welcome to New York / It’s been waitin’ for you / Welcome to New York, welcome to New York / It’s a new soundtrack I could dance to this beat, beat forevermore / The lights are so bright but they never blind me,” Taylor sings in the feel-good anthem. This is the kind of song you throw your hands up in the air to and endlessly twirl, I absolutely love it. Taylor is seriously making me a legit fan with this new album.

Pre-Buy Taylor Swfit’s fifth studio album 1989 on iTunes and receive “Welcome To New York” at midnight!

I think Ryan Tedder is secretly trying to take over music as we know it. How does 1 man have writing credits for so many damn songs?

Should be nteresting to hear what New Yorkers think of this song…

Why can’t anyone ever write a song about Cleveland?

Swift’s lyrics about BOY&BOY/GIRL&GIRL same love Gay is OK in NYC is HUGE!

Yes, this is Tay’s first POP record, but she’s still a COUNTRY star, and has that core COUNTRY audience. Taylor is essentially bringing that “Born This Way” anthemic love your gay self message to COUNTRY with that one lyric!

Example: Certain RED states, republicans or religious people who HATE GAYS will hear this message, THEIR CHILDREN who probably love SWIFT will get that message!

TAYLOR is helping groups of people who don’t even come across a GaGa interview or Mackelmore “same love” on radio
HEAR THE MESSAGE GAY IS OK. BOY/BOY GIRL/GIRL coupling should’nt be alarming anymore. IT IS OK!

The fact Taylor’s esstianally a COUNTRY star, that one lyric’s implication on Taylor’s feelings of GAY IS OK will be broadcast to millions of young people — in groups or area’s where being Gay is basically a CRIME – to get that message of Gay is OK!
