Karmin Debut ‘Sugar’ After Parting Ways with Epic Records – Watch & Listen!

Since releasing their fantastic full-length debut album Pulses back in February, pop duo Karmin have decided to part ways with their label Epic Records. Not ones to just sit around though, the real-life engaged couple – consisting of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan – have kept themselves busy by recording new original material, and now, they’re more than ready to share it. Here we have the first taste, “Sugar“, a light and breezy retro-pop number driven by smooth synth-and-string work and a giddy bass line. Amy‘s voice effortlessly carries the song and the instrumentation drop-out towards the end is absolutely divine – I love it! What do you guys think?

I’ve always wanted these two to go somewhere but there was something just not quite there. I could never decide if it was with them or their label/team. Definitely not enough promo and poor choice of singles. In terms of the new song, it was ok. Would make a great album track. However, I felt it was more “real” than their past material. Hopefully they have great success. Not enough duos make it.

I love them and think they’re are incredibly talented, but i agree with the previous comments. Something about them is not quite there yet and their debut album was subpar.

Hopefully this is the start of a better phase for them
