Following her Meek Mill-assisted single “Dumb,” Jazmine Sullivan is ready to move onto the next with the premiere of “Forever Don’t Last“! The track serves as the second official single off her upcoming third studio album Reality Show, which is scheduled to be released early next year via RCA Records. Backed by a soulful choir, “Forever Don’t Last” sees Jazmine pouring out her soul as she reflects on the demise of her failed relationship. “And I tried to believe that we could make it / But trying don’t work / So I just have to face that forever doesn’t last too long these days,” she sings on-top of the acoustic-guitar production. Jeez, well it’s certainly one of the most heartbreaking songs I’ve heard in awhile. Imma need a minute.
“The most personal song is called ‘Forever [Don’t Last]’,” Jazmine told Billboard. “I’m basically crying on that song. It’s a ballad, and that’s classic Jazmine. It’s a letting-go song which is why it’s so personal. I feel like I came to a point in my relationship where [I needed] to let go and move on. I just had to do it.”
