ARIANA – Break Free fit perfectly for the opening of the show and went well with the theater’s set design and the “Moon Man” of course. NICKI – in Anaconda was okay. Was anticipating a real snake feature since it was rehearsed. JESSIE – She’s a recording artist. Boring to watch. TAYLOR – Adorable! Classy and elegant for an award show piece. Best conceptual performance with the 1920s theme. SAM SMITH – We are over you’re “stay with me” song. Seriously. We get your gay. We get you had a break up 2 years ago. USHER – Please retire. Those dancers gave EVERYTHING though! 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER – Should have been 5 seconds! IGGY – Great contrast between the rap and the ballet dancers. She wasn’t integrated with the dancers like Taylor Swift was in the choreography. She could have done without them. MAROON 5 – They were put outside for a reason. BEYONCE – 20 minute medley’s are SO 2013. NSYNC did it last year, but if we needed to see a onstage version of the video infused album, we could have gone to VEVO. Her super bowl performance was enough. Take a bow and stop lip syncing.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even when they know nothing about what they’re speaking of. Based on your grammatical errors, I’m simply going to assume you are a kid and leave it at that. But let’s get 1 thing straight – Jessie J is a “recording artist” – you couldn’t be more wrong.

Sam Smith stated himself that Stay With Me is about one night stands, not relationships. He has never been in a relationship, only unrequited love, and has even said so countless times. Jessie J is way more than just a “recording artist”. Rihanna is what one would consider a recording artist. Beyonce has not lip synced once in her performance. You are entitled to your own opinion but I just wanted to point out the facts to you. I agree with you on 5 Seconds of Summer though.

there’s three sides to a story; there’s Michael’s side, there’s Cruz’s side, there’s Anonymoose’s side and then there’s the truth. all of these comments are ‘OPINIONS’ and you should leave it at that.

Am I the only one who found this show kind of dull this year? I just wasn’t feeling much of it except two performances…
Nicki Jessie and Ari’s performance was nooooiice! I personally think Jessie J or Nicki should have opened instead of Ari though cos to me her performance alone was forgettable…also I know she can’t help it but she always strikes me as a 12-year-old trying to be “sexy” and it just comes off as very awkward. Also I was expecting something a little more exciting for Nicki’s performance; maybe another homage to Britney with the Burmese python?
    Taylor Swift…no comment.
Sam Smith KILLED IT as per usual!! I kinda want him to perform I’m Not the Only One now since that’s his new single, I’m a little tired of hearing Stay With Me now. I’m disappointed that he didn’t win anything but I don’t really care since MTV doesn’t seem to know good music anymore.
Usher was alright. I liked Nicki’s appearance though…and it’s nice to know he’s finally back to R&B! It’s been so long!
I know it wasn’t a performance, but I like how Common had a moment of silence for the shooting of Mike Brown in Ferguson…what I didn’t like was how the Kardashians were apparently texting during that moment of silence, I mean really? Not surprised though. Ugh.
5 Seconds of Summer, more like 5 seconds of WHO? God I must be getting old because I had no clue of who half of the people were that were at the show. Anyways, nobody really cared about that performance, with only 1.7 million views it really should have lasted 5 seconds!
Iggy Azalea…ehh, wasn’t paying attention really. I’m so over her.
    Maroon 5 – they performed?!
Beyonce – obviously biggest highlight of the night!!! Snatched my wig and left me out to dry!! Whether you like her or not you must admit she is an amazing performer! Props to all her opening acts too for warming up the audience! 😉

As for the awards, it’s whatever. I’m surprised Iggy didn’t win VOTY though, a tribute to one of the greatest 90s movies of all time and it lost to someone swinging naked on a wrecking ball? Are you kidding? Also, for Best Female, I feel like Beyonce should have won that honestly. I’m happy for Katy Perry, but Dark Horse was the worst video of the entire Prism era (I’m still mad not even Roar or Unconditionally was nominated).
I can’t blame Rihanna for not showing up this year.
