Usher Debuts New Pharrell-Produced Single, ‘She Came To Give It To You’ feat. Nicki Minaj!

Following their 2010 club anthem “Lil Freak,” Usher teams up once again with Nicki Minaj for his latest single titled “She Came To Give It To You“! The track will serve as the second official single off his upcoming eighth studio album, which is scheduled for release later this year via RCA Records. Produced by Pharrell, “She Came To Give It To You,” as expected, sees the duo deliver a few verses across a funky, uptempo disco beat. Usher sings about a lady who stands out from the crowd, while Nicki has some advice for the fellas. “No little boys in the circle of Usher, got ‘em under pressure / If your girl come through, Nicki gon’ crush her / And tell your man play the back like a spine / He only last six seconds like a Vine,” she raps. While it certainly isn’t really innovate, the song is undeniably solid and will most likely be a big hit for the two big stars. What do you guys think?

Pharrell’s production is so predictable, these old artists just grasping for straws to stay relevant. What happened to crafting your own sound?

This second ‘single’ spells *TROUBLE* for Usher’s new album. The chorus is instantly forgettable after just one listen, and nothing about it inspires one to get up and dance. Really too bad for an artist of his magnitude, very disappointing 🙁
