Lana Del Rey’s ‘Ultraviolence’ – Listen to the Gloomy Title Track!

With less than two weeks to go before the release of her new album, Lana Del Rey debuts the title track off the anticipated offering titled “Ultraviolence“! The song made its world premiere today (June 4) on BBC Radio 1 as a promo single when you pre-order Ultraviolence (on iTunes), which hits stores on June 16 via Interscope Records. Co-written with Dan Heath, “Ultraviolence” is another gloomy ballad packed with everything we’ve already come to expect from Lana and her latest project: a chilled-out monologue in the breakdown, atmospheric whispery vocal layering, and a stunning strings build-up. The song has more in common with the dreamy balladry of “Shades of Cool” than lead single “West Coast” but nonetheless, it’s another solid number from the queen of darkness. What do you guys think?

  1. BORING. I want something fresh and new from Lana. She’s got the voice and the lyrics to do something better.

  2. Is it too early to call it, song of the year? #winner
