Mariah Carey Drops New Single ‘Thirsty’ Featuring Rich Homie Quan!

After barely making a dent on the charts with her Trey Songz-assisted singleYou’re Mine (Eternal),” Mariah Carey decides to turn things up a notch with the premiere of “Thirsty” featuring Rich Homie Quan. The track will serve as the third official single off her upcoming fourteenth studio album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse, which is scheduled for release on May 27 via Island Records. Produced by Hit-Boy, “Thirsty” is an urban-leaning pop number driven by a trap-light beat and Mariah‘s sassy hook: “You tryna be a boss now. Thinkin’ you a G now. Boy, you just looking thirsty,” sings Mimi. While this certainly is the most radio-friendly serving from the album yet, “Thirsty” is missing an immediate punch Mariah could really use right now. But for all you thirsty lambs out there, this should be more than enough to quench your thirst. What do you guys think?

Mariah could have huge success if she just released better songs.
    I dont get it!

I understand she wants to be urban/r&b, but why can’t it be better than these lame singles?

She needs to put out a dance album!!!!
This phase is getting old and so is she.
She needs to evolve and perhaps follow in the footsteps of Diana Ross & Cher. It worked for them and it would work for her!
Or maybe she should re-release Glitter! That album was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a mess and is destined to make ZERO impact. What is going on with Mariah? I’m a fan, but it’s like she has no connection to reality anymore. The over-photoshopped photos are beyond ridiculous. Even her least successful albums in the past had a few strong singles in the mix. I’m fearing ME . . . I AM is going to be a total disaster.

“Beautiful” charted because it was a good song. At the end of the day, it’s all about the material, and, to a lesser degree, the production. Unfortunately, this song lacks both, not to mention that the vocals aren’t anything to write home about.

Even Madonna learned that at some point, you need to put your faith in hands of talented professionals. She’ll be teaming up with Natalia Kills, Aviicii, Diplo and Martin Kierszenbaum on her next album. At least she’s TRYING to remain relevant and fresh. Mariah, with tons more talent, still clings to her outdated Urban/R&B sound with producers who are giving her NOTHING. Geez girl, mix it up and try something ORIGINAL.

Sounds like “Obsessed 2014”. I agree that she needs to stop worrying about rushing out albums and take time in making hits. Whatever happened to just making good music? This song is unrelatable and sounds dated. She should have sang about “Thirsty” women. “Thirsty men” is an unrelatable topic since most real men are not “thirsty.”

No one here is being a hater. Stop being delusional. You may like this song, but, like everything else from this project, this will have absolutely ZERO impact. It’s obvious that Me. I Am, is going to be a bunch of half-assed studio sessions and leftovers cobbled together. “Thirsty” sounds tired and dated, not to mention completely unplayable on contemporary radio….even urban radio. I would love to be wrong….

This song is just ok. Did anyone see her performace on the today show…the song she performed, “you dont know what to do” was great! It was catchy and had that Mariah Carey signature punch!

I am so bored with Mariah now.. The only thing that I liked from this project is #Beautiful.. Triumphant, the Valentine’s song and now Thirsty have all be overwhelmingly disappointing.. I am fan of her but these lame songs can go away.
