There’s no doubt that Pharrell has been on a true winning streak in the past year thanks to the massive success of Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines.” Now, with an Oscar nomination and four Grammys including Producer of the Year under his belt, the 40-year-old hitmaker has announced a title and release date for his second solo album. G I R L, his first record since 2006′s In My Mind, will arrive on March 3 via Back Lot Music and Columbia Records. The album will feature 10 tracks including the worldwide hit “Happy,” which is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. “When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind,” Pharrell told Billboard. “One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be called ‘G I R L’. I hope you like it.” I’m ready for this! What do you guys think?
