Azealia Banks Premieres ‘Count Contessa’ + Announces ‘Fantasea II’ for July!

While Azealia Banks‘ major label debut Broke With Expensive Taste, is still without a release date, the 22-year-old Harlem rapper announced today that she’s releasing her brand-new mixtape Fantasea II: The Second Wave, the sequel to last year’s Fantasea, on July 11, 2014. Until then, Azealia has shared a new song titled “Count Contessa,” a slick dance track with a hot house beat provided by producer Lone. “It’s a song about a woman with a man’s physical strength. Like, literally. Hahaaa,” Azealia tweeted about the track. “‘Count Contessa’ was a Dyke who won the fist fight with Muscle Mike.” While it’s definitely not the best thing we’ve heard from her, I’m glad she’s returned to her dance roots. What do you guys think?

  1. I think her time in the spot light is over. She has been attacking Beyonce and Lady Gaga, and even saying that Anti-Bullying is a waste of time and not important. As a gay man why support her? She had alot of promise but she threw all of that away.

    1. I agree and disagree somewhat with James. Everyone is not gay and I think the girl has a little talent. The reason why her album has no release date is probably because her label is waiting on a hit single. A new artist cannot release an album without a hit single unless you want the album to flop. The part that I agree with is that if she is “attacking Beyonce and Lady Gaga” then she is just a gimmick. I don’t follow her so I do not know whether or not it is true but from what I have seen in her videos she is too gimmicky and that is very risky career-wise. It is better to just use talent. For example, Lady Gaga got some hits from her gimmicky act while Christina Aguilera got some flops from her gimmicks. Both are talented but gimmicks do not work for every artist.

    2. Just because she isn’t going for our pink dollar doesn’t mean she is no good. I find Anti-bullying to be annoying, pandering bullshit. Good for her for saying what she thinks. You may not agree with her, but that has nothing to do with the music. She always has truly original tracks.

  2. I believe her time to be reaching a close. De can’t ride on the success of 212 forever. She’s rude, condescending, and seemingly making enemies with major power players in the industry. It’s no wonder her label refuses to launch her career. All hype, moderate talent, and a big fucking mouth.

    This song sucks.

  3. Hey does anyone else think sounds like she is singing ontop a final fantasy track? like classic video game music. Just picture street fighter beach scene LMAO
